Short Story: Twenty-one Years of Hard Labor as A Lombard Resident Homeowner in DuPage County, Illinois USA by Gardenia c. Hung on ScribeSlice

In the year 2014, I can sit down and reflect upon how much work time, travel and money it takes to purchase a suburban Lombard home in District 5, York Township in the western suburbs of DuPage County, Illinois USA.

I did not know at the age of 35 years old that being a Lombard resident homeowner and taxpayer in Lilac Town, Du Page County would make me and my family work more jobs than you can count on your fingers daily in the morning, afternoon, evening, and past midnight in order to pay for the Lombard Historic Brick Bungalow built in 1927, at 502 South Westmore-Meyers Road and Washington Boulevard, near St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Deicke Home For The Retarded, Easter Seals of Lombard, the Mennonite Church, Westmore Elementary School, the Jesse White Secretary of State Motor Vehicles License Facility, and the Islamic Foundation Center--which was built after September 2, 1993 when my Father and our family purchased a Lombard home with cash down payments to Century 21 Realtor Dino Lekousis and Baird and Warmer Realtor Paulette Weininger. 1 comment

By Labor Day Weekend 2014, I can look back on 21 years of hard labor time as a slave Lombard resident homeowner and taxpayer, after having to work several jobs consecutively and simultaneously as a Certified Legal Court Interpreter and Translator for the City of Elgin Traffic Court, Aurora Traffic Court, Geneva Old Courthouse, Batavia, St. Charles Kane County Judicial Center, the Du Page County Judicial Center, Traffic Court in Wheaton, Addison, Glendale Heights, the Illinois Industrial Commission for Workers Compensation Arbitrations and Hearings for Steel Workers, Factory Employees, Industrial staff, the National Labor Relations Board, and other Circuit Courts for the Judiciary in Illinois, USA.

Labor Day Weekend reminds me how Illinois employees can get physically injured, assaulted, kidnapped, and abused during the course of employment at the workplace, especially Lombard resident homeowners and taxpayers like myself, my Father, and my family.  Labor issues can cause many casualties.

The first day of September is a good reason to celebrate Labor Day in the USA.
